Happy 2nd Birthday baby girl!

I can't believe my baby is 2! I am just getting around to posting about all the awesomeness that she is at 2...
At 2...
Kinsey loves...
...Sofia the first (because her sister does)
..."Oh-gi" (yogurt)
..."kahk kahk" (Chocolate)
..."wow wow's" (dogs)
... baby dolls
... the color purple (because its her sisters favorite color meaning constant battles)

She is starting to talk more and has TONS and TONS of words but really struggles to combine them.  She will imitate two words though and is so proud of herself when she does it.  She always reverses the order so it sounds really cute.

Her birthday party was at a park and of course it rained cats and dogs! Ok just dogs.... it was a dog theme and instead of gifts we asked for donations to a local animal shelter.
Here are a few pictures...

She was pretty out of it through the whole party and we thought she was just overwhelmed and cranky from not napping.  Later that night she got a horrible cough and when we took her in to the doctor the next morning we found out it was croup.  Poor baby!
We raised $225 dollars for Wright Way rescue and the girls really enjoyed going to see the animals and giving them the donation!
The next day on her actual birthday we went to the apple orchard that we were at when I went into labor with her 2 years earlier.  They enjoyed picking apples.

So Kinsey is 2... and she is totally 2... she climbs on tables just to hear us tell her to get down... she pushes the limits left and right... but she snuggles so sweetly... and laughs so deeply... and loves her family more than anything in the world.  You complete us baby girl and we love you to the moon and back!

18 months...

At  18 months...
You are really starting to talk... There are things I didn't even know you knew until you say them.  We haven't done bubbles in a long time because its been cold but I guess they blow them at school.   Ashlyn pulled some bubbles out and you came running saying "Buh buh" and "pop"

You love books and songs but while you will only sit for a few seconds for each book you will sing songs over and over and over.  We will find you singing to yourself and when you finish the song you sign more and start again.  The cutest one right now is "I'm bringing home my baby bumble bee" you even say "bum bum bee" you just say it over and over and then say "OW!" it's so cute!  You also LOVE Row Row, Twinkle Twinkle and Wheels on the Bus.
You have a definite opinion on style.  You are most often wearing at least one thing that belongs to someone else. You love sisters shoes still and are often seen in jammies, with a tutu and you LOVE coats.
Here you insisted on wearing this monkey onesie and didn't want to take it off for 2 days.  You loved to point out the monkey!
And in this one you are wearing Mommy's lanyard and sissy's shoes! Funny girl!
You love Elmo and call him "Melmo"
You and sissy were both sick recently and stayed home with mommy.  This is how I found you guys when you were playing.  You love to kiss and hug sissy but you guys also fight more. You have quite a temper and no problem hitting sissy at the drop of a hat.  You are pretty good about giving a hug to say Im sorry and REALLY hate being disciplined.

You are getting so big. You love to drink out of our drinks and ask for "wawa" all the time even if you want something else.  The other day though you asked for "kahkah wawa" when you wanted chocolate milk.  So cute!
You are getting big so fast!  This morning you said "gah mah down" because you wanted grandma to take you to the basement. You love to look at your gerbils and can now open the cage which resulted in a 15 day hunt for them.
Some of your words:
"duh duh" for diaper
"buh buh" for butt (meaning you want changed)
"guh guh" or "gah mah" for grandma
"ow"
"dow" for down
"dee dah" for sister
"mama"
"dah dah"
"kak" for duck or quack
"wow wow" for dog... not sure when or why this changed but it's cute
"wawa" for water
"kah kih" for chocolate
"tee" for cheese
"yeah yeah"
"no"
and I'm sure there are many many more I'm forgetting!

Kinsey at 16 months

Wow how are you already 16 months old?  At times we still feel like you are a little baby… its easy since you still just have a little bit of baby fuzz hair and those 2 little baby teeth on the bottom… but then you do something like share your chocolate milk when we ask you to (actually its usually sissy’s chocolate milk that you took) or you help me clean up all the books that were left out.  You are very detail oriented and won’t stop until every book, or crayon, or toy is put away.
Your language is all of a sudden booming.  You have been imitating so many new words and are starting to use some on your own.  All of them pretty much start with “d” and sound very similar but we can tell that it is a new word. My favorite is that you are saying mama all the time now.  Some of your new words are: banana (duh duh), Max (mah mah) for the show Max and Ruby, thank you (duh doo), yucky (uht), Grandma (guh guh), occasionally you say sister (dee dah), along with the words you’ve been using; Daddy (dah dah), that (dat), eat (tuh), toes (tuh), more (muh), done (clear as can be), down (dow), woof (oof), and roar (rrrr ) for lions, bears, and any other animal that can possibly growl) and I’m sure there are other words I’m not thinking of.
At 16 months:
You love to eat! You eat just about everything but you don’t have a huge sweet tooth.  You will leave a cookie with only one bite out sitting on the table and run to a plate of peas.  You love meatballs, hotdogs, and chicken nuggets. You eat cheese sticks and yogurt faster than we can keep them in the house.  However, you really don’t like blueberries and the only way you like strawberries is dipped in ketchup.  We can thank your big sister for that!
You love your sister… and your daddy.  You will run after both of them before you come to Mommy most days.  You are so sweet about sharing with Ashlyn and she is just as sweet to you.
You love to play with baby dolls. They are your favorite toy by far. You carry them around, push them in the stroller, cover them with blankies, and feed them over and over.
You really love banging on mommy’s computer and are very sneaky in trying to find ways to get close to it when it is open.
You can point to lots and lots of body parts and you love to show your tummy. Your favorite game is for mommy or sister to shout "Where's Kinsey's tummy!" and you race to lift your shirt!
You are hilarious.  If we ask “Are you silly?” You do this crazy little shake sticking your tongue out and being well.. Silly!  If we ask “are you funny?” you laugh.  You love to do silly things like eat your breakfast sitting on the ledge in the fridge, or practice walking in sisters dress up shoes.
If we try to change your diaper you take off and hide giggling away.  You love to wear shoes and at times will walk around the house in nothing but a diaper and your little brown suede shoes.
This by far has been my most favorite age! I love you Kinsey Sloane!

Kinsey at 13 months

At 13 months- -Kinsey LOVES baby dolls. There is one in particular with a cloth body but hard head (and no clothes) that she really loves to carry around. She pats baby on the back, and puts it "nigh nigh" She takes it from room to room with her. -She isn't talking much... She is capable of saying "mama" "dada" "dog dog" "duh duh duh duh duh" (Dora), "done" and a few more words but she refuses most of the time. If you ask her if she wants anything she shakes her head very affirmatively (is that a word?) but will not talk. -She will go get anything you ask just about and follows directions like "Take this to daddy" and "lets change your diaper" where she will go lay on the floor by the diapers. Its so cute!" - She loves to go to the fridge and get fruit cups out of the door. She loves to eat and will run to her high chair and point to get up there" -She REALLY loves cats. If she sees one on tv she runs over and practically climbs the entertainment center SCREAMING. -She waves bye bye and blows kisses whenever anyone leaves or its time for bed. -She loves to wake her sister up in the morning. She's still an early riser and will tolerate mommy time for about an hour but then she is determined to get sissy up! -She only drinks out of a cup at school but if we give her one at home she usually throws it at us. -She's quite the daredevil. She loves to climb everything. If she thinks you are coming to stop her she goes even faster. -She LOVES to hide and play Peek A Boo. She hides in the sheer curtains in the front room or just goes to another room and stands there thinking she is hiding. It is ADORABLE! She SQUEALS when you find her. She has been sick with nasty colds most of this month. She was sick on Halloween but still was a trooper going trick or treating in her owl costume. Kinsey and Ashlyn were so adorable!

Happy Birthday Kinsey Sloane!

Our sweet baby... I can't believe you are 1.  This year has gone by too fast.  Sometimes it didn't feel that way... when you were colicky and miserable and our hearts broke for you... I felt so alone and so helpless.  Now I know it was all part of you wiggling your way into our hearts. Now I wish I could have those moments back.. You and I rocking... Mama's girl. Everyone said they would be over before I knew it and they were.
You feel things so strongly.  When you are happy it is impossible to be sad around you. When you are sad we are all sad with you.  You experience life to the fullest! Your laughter is contagious.

Although you are mama's girl there is nothing sweeter than the way you squeal when your daddy comes home. You run right to him and cling to his legs until he picks you up and when he does you lay your head so sweetly on his chest.  I love the way you love your daddy and the way he loves you!
Your very favorite person in the whole world though is your big sister.  You run and hug her so tight.  She loves you too.  Whichever one of you wakes first you run to find and wake the other. Then she lets you climb all over her, often pulling her hair and she never complains. If I try to move you she says no she wants you there.  Mornings with the two of you are my favorite time of day. You sweet baby truly made us a family.  Our dynamics are perfect and we couldn't be happier with you in our lives.

At 1....
-You have an amazing musical ability... You tap out the beat to songs you hear on the radio, you dance to the rhythm perfectly... you hum your favorite songs to request them... Music plays at our house almost constantly and we have wonderful dance parties in the kitchen... even Grandma can't resist them and they can last hours!
-You love animals... especially dogs, cats, ducks, and your gerbils.  We can't go into the basement without you requesting to visit Chewy and Ugloo at least a few times.
-You love to eat... meat, bread, cheese, pasta... you don't care you'll eat it.  You REALLY love yogurt, graham crackers, and lunch meat.
- You are right on target with your clothing size (12 months) and weight (20 lbs), yet you look like a little doll and nobody can believe you should be walking.  They are shocked when I tell them you've been doing it for several months!
-Your favorite song is "The Good Morning Song" You request it first thing when you wake up in the morning... You even request it at 2 am if you want it to be morning.  You also love "If You're Happy and You Know it"
-You love Mickey and Minnie Mouse, Bubble Guppies, and Little Einsteins
-You aren't afraid of anything, including stairs, climbing off mommy and daddy's bed, climbing up onto the window ledge etc...
-You are absolutely beautiful!
Thank you for teaching me to slow down and appreciate the little moments with my girls... We all love you more than you will ever know! Enjoy your party and your day sweet girl!
Just don't grow up too fast!

Kinsey at 8 mo.

Kinsey's 8th month was a busy month but I guess summer always is busy for us! We have to cram in enough fun to survive the winter! Kinsey got Roseola on the 16th of June and was MISERABLE for well over a week. It was really tough. We still managed to have a great Father's Day though. We also had fun at the Strawberry Festival and Greek Festival. Mommy and Daddy celebrated our 5th wedding anniversary. Kinsey is really getting to be a happy friendly baby. She still worships the ground her sister walks on but is also becoming quite a Daddy's girl. Kinsey is sleeping in a crib now thanks to our friends the Kleimans! She usually makes it about 5 hours before she wakes up wanting a bottle and a snuggle from Mommy. It's way better than before though! She's learned what she isn't supposed to do and loves to do it if you are watching. Then when you call her name she giggles and crawls off really fast. It's so cute but she is such a stinker! The kinds of things she loves to do is get ahold of paper, push buttons on the cable box (this one really annoys Ashlyn), put shoes in her mouth, and climb things! She makes this face we call her snorty face where she wrinkles up her nose and snorts. It looks really mean and angry but its actually anytime she is really enjoying something. She does it all the time especially when she's eating and it cracks us up everytime! At 8 mo Kinsey... is standing alone... 18 lbs even... loves an audience... loves all food especially meat (pot roast from Culvers, pork from Chipotle)and rice... loves music and dancing... still loves Mickey Mouse and will crawl to the tv when she hears the theme song... wears 12 month clothes... and drinks out of Ashlyn's sippy cups!
